NOTES
A piece written for Dianne Berkun-Menaker and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, using a text which was often quoted by John Cage, "ars imitatur naturam in sua operatione" - "art imitates nature in her manner of operation". Cage was quoting the Ceylonese philosopher Ananda Coomaraswamy, who was quoting Thomas Aquinas, who was quoting Aristotle.
